Background:
By day, a mild-mannered engineer and programmer.  But by night...well, still a
mild-mannered engineer and programmer.  Kate received her invitation to the 
party quite some time ago, but stuck it in a Big Pile O'Miscellany on her desk
and promptly forgot about it.  While searching for something, she found it again.
And forgot about it again.  And found it again.  Now, hoping it's not too late,
she races across the country, possibly setting a new record for how fast one can
go in a Honda Civic.
