When you finish your first day on a new job, you tend to fell certain things. Some will fell tiered from doing work that they are not used to. Some will fell like they didn't do a very good job. Others will fell that they did very good job and will be looking forward to the next day on the job. Shiro, on the other hand, was suffering from a server headache from multiple blows to the head, massive information overload, and blood lost. If you had seen him for the first time, you would have thought you had seen a ghost. It couldn't be further from the truth. `Wow, now this is a challenge!' Shiro said to himself, `It's gonna be a lot of work, but I'm sure I can do it. Those kids need an education and I'm their only hope. I just wonder if the teachers are Just trying to spook me into thinking that one boy could cause all this Trouble.' When Shiro was just a few blocks from the train station, he seen a Gathering of people looking at the sky. `I wonder what they are looking At.' He said to himself as he walked towards the crowd. As he came closer to the crowd, he started to make out a shape out of the object in the sky. If he were mistaken, he would swear that it looked like a Spanish galleon. "Well, you don't see something like that everyday." Said one young man. "Tell me about it." Said another young man, "So what do you think about the odds of it involving Ranma?" "Well if it's something weird like a flying boat Hiroshi, and it's here, it either got something to do with Ranma or that Moroboshi boy." Said the first boy. "So Daisuke," Said Hiroshi with a smirk and an greedy glint in his eyes "how much do you want to bet that Ranma and the ship are connected?" "I'm not taking that bet unless I get Ranma." Said Daisuke rolling his eyes "Besides, you still owe me for the last FIVE times that you lost the bet." "Come on Dai, I said I will pay you back. You know between you and.." Said Hiroshi as he was turning around to go home. He then spotted Shiro in the crowd. "Hey! Isn't that Smith sensei?" Daisuke then turned to see what Hiroshi was talking about. "Hey your right, that is him. He looks a little pale thought." Shiro never seen something like a flying boat before, so like any first timer, he just stood there dumbfounded. "I would never believe this if someone told me. Well, I guess this is something that happens here often." Then he looked at his watch. "OH NO! If I don't hurry I will miss my train!" And with that, he was off like lighting. Ranma 1/2: Lack of Common Sensei While Ranma is Away, the Teachers Will Play It was a nice and bright morning the next day and Shiro was going over his lesson plans while he was walking towards Furinkan High. After a nice hot bath, a good night sleep, and a good hot breakfast, he felt like he could take the world. Ok, so his first day on the job didn't quiet go the way he wanted. If he had heard of this school before he took the job, he would had to admited that he would not have been too eager to take it. But, after he had meet everybody, he guess that it is a kind of place that you should visit before you make a decsion like that. "Hey old man, wait up!" yelled a female voice. Shiro turned around and seen Sakura running towards him. "Good morining Sakura-sensei." Shiro said as Sakura walked towards him. As she got closer to him, he could see that she was holding a heavy box that looked a little too big for her to carry. "Here let me get that for you." Shiro said as he reach out for the box. "Are you sure you want to hold this?" Sakura said arching a eyebrow. "Yeah I'm sure. I just want to help you out." Sakura looked into Shiro's eyes. "...Ok. Remember you asked for it." After she said that, Sakura toss him the box. "Well, it doesn't look too heavy." Shiro began as he was catching the box. When a male ask to carry something for a female, you should ask what is in the box before you ask to carry it. Shiro might had done the nice thing to do but his back will never forgive him for what is about to happen. As Shiro was starting to catch the box, he started to fell its weigh. "WHOA!" was all that Shiro was able to say as he rocketed to the ground from the weigh of the box. "Hey, Shiro!" Sakura said as she tried to help him get up "I tried to tell you. Are you ok?" "Ouch." Shiro grunted. "I might not be able to play baseball for awhile, but I'll be ok. What in the world do you got in the box anyway?" "Hmm... just 35 fruitcakes." Sakura said after a few seconds of reflection. "Fruitcakes?" Shiro said, having flashbacks of past Christmases in America when you couldn't pay someone to take a fruitcake. "Why would you have 35 fruitcakes in the springtime?" "I'm just killing three birds with one stone." She said as a matter of factually. "I had my Home Economics classes make them. Then I would have my Chemistry classes try to figure out the chemical composition of it. Finally I will let the Physics classes try to find out what the heck makes fruitcakes so heavy." Shiro just blink for a few seconds. "I think mankind isn't ready to find out what makes fruitcakes so dangerous." Sakura was listening to Shiro as she was looking at her watch. "We better hurry, we got a teachers meeting today." "Do you know what it's about?" He asked. "Not a clue." She shrugged. "I just found out this morning myself. I think it is just mostly about Principal Kunou introducing you formally to all the teachers and making some crazy rules." "I just hope I don't get the welcome I got when I came here this morning." Shiro said. Sakura nodded. "Well let's get the lead out." And off she went. She was already out of sight before Shiro was able to say anything. "... I could use some help here." The teachers' lounge is suppose to be a place were a teacher could relax from the riggers of teaching. A place where adults can hold a intelligent conversation with one another. But, as usual, that is not the case at Furinkan High. Instead of a comfortable environment for the teachers, you had something that looked like something that came out of one of those `beach movies' except for a long meeting table. And at the head of the meeting table, Principal Kunou was playing his ukulele, smiling like a cat that got a mouse trapped. "Aloha everybody!" the Principal said in unusually good cheer. "Aloha Principal Kunou." Said the teachers in a well practice robotic tone. "Well kids, you might be wondering why I called this meeting." Said Kunou while playing a tune on the ukulele. "There is just two things I wanted to announced. Number one, please, lets give a warm Hawaiian welcome to our new English teacher Shiro Smith." "Hello Shiro-san." Said the teachers in the robotic tone again. "Second, if any of you have my son in their class, he had to go on a journey to save his girlfriend. So just hold on to his work until he comes back." "That is all." Said Principal Kunou. As the teachers were leaving to go to their homerooms, he added "Oh yeah, I almost forgot, GET A HAIRCUT!" As they were walking towards their homerooms, Shiro could see a lot of teachers cheering. "I wonder why they are so happy about that?" He said to himself as he was walking pass the nurse's office. "I might as well see if Karou was okay. When he opened the door, he notice two things right off the bat. One was the office was empty. The two times he was in here before, the place was jammed packed with students who were injured. Number two was Nurse Karou herself. When Shiro last seen her, she looked like she was about to collapse from overwork. Now, she looked like a million yen. Her hair was brushed, there were no rings around the eyes, and she just radiated a natural healthy look around. "Good morning Shiro-san." Said Nurse Karou in a welcoming voice. "Good morning... Karou?" Said Shiro in a somewhat shocked stake. "I guess your felling better?" "As a matter of fact, I fell great!" She said cheerfully. "It's been a long time since I got a good night sleep. Heck, It's the first time that I had a morning that wasn't busy." "I just notice that." Shiro said, still in shock about how good Karou looked. "I was wondering that myself." "Remember what I told you about Ranma and his friends?" Karou said as she sat down at her desk. "Yeah." Shiro said thinking back "You said that the majority of the troubles here could be traced back to him in some way." "Well, did you see anything unusual while you were going home?" Said Karou. Shiro then snapped his fingers "I did see a flying boat yesterday. What does that have to do with Ranma?" Karou then smiled at Shiro. "Well, from what I heard, there was a pirate king on that boat that you saw. I didn't get a name but from what I got from the story was that he was looking for a bride and he kidnapped Akane Tendo. Ranma, Kunou, and the other kids that cause most of the trouble around here went after the pirate king." Shiro let this digest for a minute. "So what happens now?" Karou then handed Shiro an envelope "Well, since the teachers didn't have a chance to properly welcome you and Ranma will be gone for a couple of weeks, we decided to throw a party. All the information is in there. Now I think you should get to your homeroom before Hinako- sensei finds you here, you don't want her to `punish' you. "Thanks Karou!" Said Shiro cheerfully as he ran out of the nurse's office. The rest of the day was unusually quiet. Shiro didn't mind, it was just that he was prepare for the chaos. At least he got the party later on tonight to plan for. Author's notes: Don't you just hate it when everything goes wrong for you and you fell like you just want to give up? I was going through that right now with computers breaking down, loosing my internet connection, loosing power, and just finding out that they might cancel the Tiger's opening day at they new stadium. I really felt like the world wanted to keep me down all the time. But, I really wanted to do this. I could had mailed Twoflower and told him that I had to skip but I really wanted to do this, so here it is. It's not the best that I wanted it to be and I didn't have anybody on hand to ask questions, but I think I did a pretty good job for what I had to go through.
