The fog was so thick that he couldn't see the floor he was standing on. He took a few steps apprehensively trying to see where he was, but it was no use. The fog just wouldn't let up. Instinctively he knew he was in a dream. However, this was no ordinary dream. It was a vision.Whether it was a vision of the past or the future, he did not know. The fog started letting up to show him he was in a park of some sort. It also revealed a little girl. She had long black hair and purple eyes. It was Tomoyo. She was worried about something that was happening in the distance. He looked up to see, but it was covered in that mysterious fog. He brought his gaze back down, to see something that surprised him. It was himself at a younger age. He was wearing his wizard clothes, which was strange since he never used them while Tomoyo was around. Also, he had his hands on some kind of barrier and was very distressed about the same thing Tomoyo was staring at. Suddenly a gust of wind kicked up and he was covered in fog again. As it let up, he saw that he was no longer in the part. He was now on a rooftop not far from Tokyo Tower. He could barely see the landmark, but his eyes fixated on something else. A little girl in a costume no older than the young self he saw a few seconds ago. When he saw what she had in her hands, his eyes went wide. The Clow Staff. With a quick motion, she raised the staff and brought it down on a card. ---O---O---O---O---O--- Shaoran Li awoke in his room, covered in sweat. "Damn." He thought to himself. He didn't get a good look at her face. Who was that person? She seemed familiar. It was surprising enough that there was a captor six years ago, but that paled in comparison to the fact that he and Tomoyo knew her. Li got up and headed to the bathroom to clean up. As he got into the shower, he thought over what was revealed to him. Since there was a captor before and he didn't remember, it was obvious that the Judgment had failed. What wasn't clear is why he didn't remember the captor herself. Even if she failed the Judgment, that would only erase all memory of the cards. Why couldn't he remember her? Getting out of the shower, he stopped as he passed the mirror. His body was covered with bruises and cuts. They would be gone with a little medicine, but their presence now served to remind him of his failure. He has lost the family heirloom, the Derivitor, because of his careless actions. All three cards he had found had gotten the better of him and had either injured him or left him unconscious. Hardly the start he was hoping for. Perhaps he needed to train himself more or learn some new spells. Li shook his head and banished those thoughts for now. He had to get ready. Today was the day he finally started school. ---O---O---O---O---O--- "Decapre! Come forth!" ordered M. Bison from his throne. As the he took a sip of his favorite wine, a young blonde girl dressed in a black bodysuit with red gloves stepped out of the shadows. She raised her head to reveal the black mask with red eyes on her face and stood in salute. "You sent for me, sir." she spoke up in a heavy Russian accent. "I have mission for you. The device you acquired for me is proving to be more difficult to be made to work than expected. I want you to capture the one that used it to find you. Bring him here so he can be persuaded to share his knowledge with us." "Yes, sir." As she turned around to leave, Bison called to her again. "Decapre..." She turned to meet his gaze and he continued, "If the target proves to be too much trouble, you have permission to exterminate him." "Understood, sir." she answered before disappearing into the shadows again. Staring into his glass, he closed his eyes in thought. "Still, the target has vast knowledge on this power. He might be ready for Decapre this time and I have to consider that this 'Captor' might be in the area." He opened his eyes again and spoke. "Satsuki! Follow Decapre, but do not interfere with her mission. Make sure that nothing happens to both her and her power if she fails." Behind his throne, a young Japanese girl also dressed in a black bodysuit with red gloves stepped forward and bowed. She had black hair that was cut short and had a katana strapped on her back. "Hai, Bison-sama." ---O---O---O---O---O--- "Class, I'd like you to welcome our new student. Shaoran Li. He will be attending our school from now on." the teacher announced. Sakura couldn't believe her luck. She had already seen him at he gate of the school, but she never thought he'd be in her class. Now he was here and he was already setting his 'death gaze' on her. She looked to Tomoyo for some support to she that she was quite happy that he was here. Maybe there was some good coming out of this. "Li, would you take the seat behind Sakura?" As he took his seat, Sakura could already feel his eyes trying to burn a hole in her back. Silently, she started to count the minutes left to P.E. class. ---O---O---O---O---O--- Li began to tie his shoes as he prepared to head home. Today had been very informative. After a brief conversation with Tomoyo, he had found out that she was calling herself Yuriko for some reason. She didn't seem to want to tell him the reason, so he didn't ask for one. He had also learned from classmates that both Tomoyo and Sakura never seemed to be apart that much. Some of them had even implied that they were 'more than friends'. That couldn't be true. He had gone out with her a few days back. Then again, they did walk into the apartment holding hands. "Hello Li-kun." His thoughts were interrupted as the person in question greeted him. "Hello Tomo... e, Yuriko. Did you want something with me?" "Yes, but I'm not sure if it's appropriate for me to ask," she answered shyly. Li immediately felt his cheeks go red. "Um, it's okay. You can ask me anything." "Really?" When she saw him nod in agreement, she continued "Well, if your not doing anything tonight, I was wondering if you would like to go out tonight." "Sure, I'd love to." He mentally kicked himself for his previous thoughts. That was silly. There's no way that Tomoyo would be...that way. It was ridiculous. ---O---O---O---O---O--- When Tomoyo had asked him to go out, he had assumed that both of them would be going out to the movies and afterwards they would go get something to eat. To a certain point, those things had been done with one addition to the equation. That addition being one shorthaired, bandana clad, tournament fighter/card captor seated beside him that seemed just as annoyed about his presence. The whole evening had been quite frustrating. The initial surprise had been bad, but the events afterwards just added to it. On the way to the theater, Tomoyo walked between him and Sakura. At the theater it was the same thing, her seated between the both of them. He was almost surprised that when they got to the pizza parlor that they weren't sitting between Tomoyo again. Of course, now he was seated next to wrong girl. On the other side of the seat, Sakura was also having a bad day. Not only had the evening been completely awkward and weird, but she also had to put up with his glares. No doubt, he probably blamed her for this. Now that Tomoyo had gone to the bathroom, she was alone with him and his attitude. "That's it! What is your problem with me?" Sakura nearly yelled out. "What's my problem? My problem is that you are here. That's my problem." "Hey! It's not like I planned this. She invited me and she didn't say anything about you coming." "So you could have left when I got there!" "I tried! She stopped me!" "You should have tried harder!" "It's so nice that you two are finally speaking to each other." chimed in a third voice. Both turned their heads to see Tomoyo smiling face staring at them. "You two hadn't said a word to each other until now. I was beginning to worry," she added making both Sakura and Li blush out of embarrassment. "Maybe I should leave." Sakura commented. "Why?" Tomoyo asked, "Your not having fun? I know I have." "You have?" Both Li and Sakura answered in unison. "Of course. Why wouldn't I? I'm spending the night with the two most important people in the world to me. I think we should do this more often." "More often?" Li asked a little depressed. "Of course. It would be so wonderful if we could all start to do things together." Tomoyo added starry eyed. "Together?" Sakura asked a little nervous. What was she implying? "We would hang out together, go to the same collage, have picnics..." Tomoyo went on with her little fantasy to much the displeasure of both Sakura and Li. "Mommy, look! That guy and that girl are turning pale!" a young kid pointed out. "You cut that out, Ichiro. It's not polite to stare." ---O---O---O---O---O--- As they made their way thru the park, Li resolved to avoid eye contact for the time being. Tomoyo's little speech at the pizza parlor had left him a little unearned. She couldn't possibly mean what she said, could she? She probably just said it because they were fighting. Yeah, that was it. Sakura however was completely worried. Normally, Tomoyo 'affection' was geared specifically towards her. While it still unearned her at times, she had gotten used to it. When Tomoyo started to out with Li, she was happy for her. Sure they didn't go out as often, but it gave her some space. Tonight, however, she had definitely taken it to a whole new level. What did she mean with 'together'? She couldn't possibly mean for her, Tomoyo and Li to... "No! I don't want to do that!" "Is something wrong, Sakura-chan?" Tomoyo asked. "Um, no. It's nothing." Sakura answered blushing. Tomoyo just cheerfully nodded back and wondered if the joke she played on both of them was a bit too much. She quickly dismissed the though, since they shouldn't have been fighting in the first place. It was at that point that Li felt the presence of a Clow Card. And not just any card, one he's felt before. "You guys wait here. There's something I have to take care of," he told them as he took off not allowing either girl to ask him why. He ran for a few minutes until he came upon an empty playground. "Come out! I know your there!" he yelled out. His call was answered as the shadows in the playground started to come alive. Out of the shadows a familiar figure appeared sporting a pair of red eyes. "Surrender or be eliminated," a heavily accented female voice instructed. Li merely answered the back with a grin as he pulled out some charms. "I'm ready for you this time." He threw the charms into the air and began to chant. The charms suddenly stopped in midair and began to shine brightly, lighting up the whole area around them. Li allowed himself a smile when Shadow reacted as he expected. Surrounded by light, Shadow's power was greatly reduced. Decapre could only watch in wonder as she was completely exposed in the light. She was almost taken off guard when Li came down on her with a flying kick, which was followed with a backfist. Decapre barely managed to block the kick and was pushed back when the second blow connected. "Not so easy without help from Shadow, huh? Your mine this time." Li declared as he renewed his attack. ---O---O---O---O---O--- Back where Li told them to wait, Sakura and Tomoyo saw a light begin to shine far away. "I didn't know there were lamps that bright in the park." Tomoyo commented. When she looked towards Sakura, she saw a look of concern. "What is it, Sakura-chan?" "I'm not sure, but I've got a feeling that someone is fighting over there. I think I've felt this before." "Sakura-chan! You used to feel Clow Card like this before. Maybe a little of that power is starting to come back now." All of a sudden, Tomoyo came to a realization. "Wait, Li also had that ability. You don't think that he went to capture a card all by himself?" "That moron! He should know by now that he can't capture cards all by himself." "Then it's time for a capture," declared Tomoyo as she started to take out her camcorder. "You had that with you all this time?" asked Sakura a bit surprised. "Of course! Back then I used to miss getting some of your captures on video because I wasn't prepared. So I learned from my mistakes." ---O---O---O---O---O---O---O---O---O--- Shaoran Li paused a moment to catch his breath from his last attack. Things were going much better than the last time he fought this mysterious woman. Right now he was winning the fight. Not by much, but he knew that if he was in a good position to end the match. His opponent was stating to breathe hard, a clear sing of exhaustion. Deciding to end this quickly, Li charged at her. Decapre decided to hold her ground and counterattack with a kick. This proved to be a mistake as Li thrust the palm of his hand straight at her jaw. Both blows connected simultaneously sending both flying to the ground. Li picked himself up and checked on the masked lady. She was out cold. "I've won". He felt a little bruised and tired, but it paled in comparison to the feeling of victory. "Damn, I have to get her here to capture the card" he declared a little depressed. As Li turned to get Sakura, he found himself nearly slashed by a sharp blade. Falling on his rear, he looked up to see a Japanese girl who was dressed in the same outfit that the masked girl wore pointing a katana straight at him. Li cursed his luck again. No sooner had he defeated one opponent, another one takes her place. However both began to hear someone approaching. Satsuki decided to stick to her primary mission to help her fallen ally. Not turning her back towards Li she grabs Decapre with her free hand and draged her out of the light where they disappear into the shadows. Sakura finally arrives just in time to see Li sitting on the ground and a dark haired girl drag a masked blonde girl away. One of those girls, probably the masked one, must have been the possessed one. "Damn it, Li! What were you thinking? You know that I'm the only one that can seal cards. You should have told me!" She stopped when she saw the look of frustration on his face and his hands balled up into fists. Li got himself up and started to walk away. Tomoyo got there just in time to see them exchange words. "Look..." "Don't say it. I don't want your pity...captor." Li never even bothered looking back as he left Sakura and Tomoyo in the park as the lights began to fade. ---O---O---O---O---O--- Deep in the in the Shadowloo hideout, Decapre faced her reported to her master. She had never failed him before and was a bit fearful of what the price of failure might be. "I've failed my mission, sir. I am prepared to face my punishment." Bison rose from his throne and approached Decapre slowly. When he got close enough, he grabbed part of her exposed face making her gasp. "There will be no punishment needed this time." Bison told her as he let go and caressed her face. "Report to the laboratory, I need to run a few more test on you." "Yes, sir." As she left, Bison turned his attention to the monitors reporting the activities in Tokyo. Clearly he had underestimated the resourcefulness of the target and there was the matter of this captor he knew nothing about. He would have to send his spies to Tokyo to investigate the matter further. Once he had all the data he needed, he would make his move then all the power would be his and no force on this earth would be able to stop him. ---O---O---O---O---O--- "I'm sorry Miss Daidoji, but Master Li simply refuses to answer the phone" "It's okay. Thank you, anyways" Tomoyo answered in a sad tone. She and Sakura had made in back to Sakura's home and decided to call Li. However, no matter how many times she would call, he would not answer. "He just simply doesn't want to talk to me." "I don't know why you even bother," Kero told Tomoyo. "Like I said, we don't need him." "Still, I'm kinda concerned," Sakura commented, "He looked really upset." "So what? He used to criticize you when you made mistakes. If you ask me, that brat got what he deserved." Kero told Sakura. Sakura decided to let the subject end there and resolved to attend to Tomoyo. "Tomoyo, are you going to spend the night? Mom already said it would be okay." "Yes. Let me call home to tell them." While she tried not to show it, Tomoyo was very concerned. Tonight had gone nothing like she planned. She had hoped that once they got to know each other better, they would start working together like before. However, things had gone horribly wrong. That card showing up ruined everything. "How do I fix things now?" she thought to herself as her home answered the phone. ---O---O---O---O---O--- DUE TO LEGAL AND TECHNICAL PROBLEMS, "LEAVE IT TO THE SHADOWLOO" HAS BEEN CANCELED. WE NOW CONTINUE WITH THE REGURARLY PROGRAM... ---------------------- Leave It To Kero-Chan! ---------------------- "Konnyanyachiwaaaaa~~~!!!" "First, I would like to that the good people of Interpol for giving me back my show. That's why I wasn't in this fic all that much today" "To show my appreciation, today's show will focus on Interpol best agent, Chun Li! Doesn't she look good in her traditional martial arts uniform? Sure it isn't as revealing as her bodysuit, but this one has it good qualities too." "Kero-Chan Check! Today we focus on the back of Chun Li outfit. Look how good her stocking hug her long shapely legs and..." (That's it. Kikosho!!!) (Kero is blasted into the sky by the big blue sphere) (And don't even think that there's going to be a "Leave it to Chun-Li!" next time cause I'm not doing it.) ---O---O---O---O---O--- Author Notes: I really can't say that this is my best work, since I've had more than a few RL issues come up and interrupt my writing. Maybe I should have traded my spot with Smilee when he offered. Guess it's too late for regrets now. As you can see, this episode deals mainly with Li. Why? Cause I wanted the fic to deal with him more. I also wanted him to be less pathetic and actually beat somebody for once, but that was secondary. No, really. ;p I'd like to thank Smilee, Jason Drozd and Richard Beaubien for giving me some ideas for this chapter. This is going to be the last thing I write for a little while, since finals are almost upon me and I really need to pass Calculus II. -Rift
