It took place at the same inn where Naga and her companion were having that drink Naga wanted. They talked about the city of Levar, to which the old man warned them not to go. The Inn was abandoned, save for Naga, Getehl, the old man, and the Bartender. After a friendly persuasion from Getehl, the old man then agreed. "Fine," The old man agreed. "But don't hold me responsible for anything that happens to you." Then the old man suddenly said. "Oh, you look tired from all that walking. I suggest you rest here for the night. I do own this inn, after all." "OOOOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO!!!" Naga laughed. "That's a kind offer, but as you can see, we.." "Ah," The innkeeper interrupted. "But this stay's on me, friend!! A special discount has been made to all couples, like yourselves!!" "Naga, we're not r.." Before Getehl can finish, Naga covered his mouth. "That will do nicely." Naga smiled as she took the last sip of her drink. Getehl also took the last bit of his drink. Before Naga could order another one, she passed out. So did Getehl. The old man smiled. "Works every time!!" The innkeeper/robber smiled. "I can't believe they fell for the old 'special wine' trick!!" He snickered as he has his henchman (That would be the bartender.) takes them to their rooms. "All right, let's strip these fools of valuables. Cash, weapons, but leave their clothes on. This isn't a strip bar!!" With that, the innkeeper's henchman took Naga and Getehl to their rooms. "HO HO!!" The innkeeper smiled. "We'll be rich yet!!" he laughed maniacally. ----- Slayers Glorious Created by Todd Harper Chapter 35: Drunk! Old distractions never fade away. Author: Lord Ryunson ----- Outside of the inn, we find everybody's favorite Captain, as well as his two goons in the same town our heroes, Naga and Getehl. "ARRR!!! Have ye seen this woman?" The captain sneered as he showed a picture of a poorly drawn Naga to a nearby blacksmith. The blacksmith shook his head while he continued to forge new weapons and tools. "Captain," Lilen moaned. "That bimbo could be anywhere in this town." "HA HAR!! Not to worry!! With Petey at me side, how can we lose?" The Captain shook his shoulder to which Petey, the dead albatross, lays there. "FLY PETEY, FLY!! Scout around for that accursed creature of a White Serpent, and see where she stays." However, there was no avail for the albatross. "Sir," Korvadous spoke. "That bird is as dead as a..." "QUIET, BOY!!!" The Captain screamed. "I'm trying to find that accursed White Serpent, so I can put an end to her laughing reign of terror, once, and for all!!" The Captain laughed as people are telling him to keep the noise down. Children are asleep in their beds while some of the workers in the area need their concentration. "So we'll have to do this quietly, eh fearless leader?" Lilen spoke. "Indeed." The captain smiled. "Besides, how threatening can she be?" -------- Inside, Naga was seriously drugged. She opened her eyes, and awoke from her bed. Naga, seeing drugged up visions of walls moving in from one direction to another, revolved around her sight. Then, she moved slowly to what appears to be stairs going down. Disoriented images start to fill her mind and sight, like a wine glass filling with delicious wine. Normally a person who had the same experience with the drugged drink would find him/herself in a world where nothing makes sense, leaving the person enraged and drunk at the surroundings. This is no exception, to the woman who has dried up several taverns with her ravenous thirst. The woman who's laugh spreads fear throughout the continent. The woman, known only to the world, as Naga the White Serpent. She crashed down, scarring other customers that might have come in during the time the Innkeeper drugged Naga, and the time the captain continued his serpent hunt. "The voices..." Naga spoke while she got up. Voices of Lina Inverse was driving her mind off the wall. Words like "Goldfish Feces, Sidekick", and stuff like that pounded her mind like a thousand mallets, pounding on the anvil of the blacksmith shop. She was staggering over and gazed upon the Inn door. "Naga," The innkeeper said, looking at the drugged White Serpent. "I don't know how you managed to escape my drug, but at least your friend had plenty of fine treasures!!" Her vision blurred. Instead of the innkeeper, Naga saw a hallucination of Lina Inverse, holding a sword, and gold coins, laughing. Naga was angry. "Lina Inverse..." The innkeeper was confused. "What? Lina isn't here, Naga!! Are you that airheaded?!" Naga invoked a spell. She placed her hands on the ground, while magic flowed from them. Naga invoked the words, "VIGARTHAGAIA!!" With that, the spell created an earthquake. The boards around the Inn began to shatter. Wine glasses were breaking from the impact of the wooden boards on the shelves. The old man was terrified at such carnage. While this was happening, Naga invoke the spell Windy Shield to protect her from the ceiling crashing upon her. Thus the earthquake destroying the inn. ---- "Wha.. What was that?!" Lilen was shocked. "AAARRR!!" The Captain screamed. "It be that accursed White Serpent, no doubt!!" "But how do we know it's her?" Korvadous spoke. "There's only one way to find out, me boy!! COME PETEY, everyone, let's give that White Serpent her eviction notice!!!" The Captain was happily laughing as he rushed over to the site where the explosion was. "Are you sure this was a good idea?" Korvadous was worried. "Not to worry!!" Lilen smiled, "I'm sure that White Serpent killed herself in the blast!! She's not that lucky!!" ------ Luckly, everyone evacuated just in time when Naga unleashed her laugh when she entered the Inn, so there were no real casualties. There were only the stunned bodies of the Innkeeper, the henchman bartender, and Gethel. Naga herself was the real survivor with no damage, thanks to the Windy Shield. She pushed the boards aside to find her companion. She eventually looked all around. She was worried. "Getehl?" Naga spoke as she searched all around. "GETEHL?!" She eventually found her companion on the ground, staggering. Bruised. Injured, but not dead. "OOOWWWW!!!" Getehl screamed. "Why did you have to do that, Naga?" Naga smiled. "At least the stuff the Innkeeper placed didn't last long." She tossed her hair aside. She helped Getehl up with a Recovery spell, and Getehl got up. He later brushed himself off. "Thanks Naga," He spoke, "I thought I was going to be dead when that earthquake happened." "OOOOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO! But of course!! You were quite lucky the bed broke your fall, and protected you from crashing down completely." Naga smiled. "Now, let's leave here before something weird happens." as she left, Naga heard a familiar voice. "That be your last laugh, White Serpent!!" It was the captain, flanked by his two goons, Lilen and Korvadous. "Well well," Naga spoke as she looked at the Captain. "If it isn't the real Goldfish Feces himself, Captain Crazy!!" Naga gave off her laugh once again. "AAAAAAARRRRRR!!!" The Captain screamed, "I be no Captain Crazy, you cursed snake!! I be..." "Captain Looney, Captain Annoying ." Naga keeps trying to get the Captain's name right. "NO, NO, AND NO!!!" The Captain screeched. "Captain Obnoxious?" Naga continued to figure out the Captain's real name. "Yer getting me real sore now, White Serpent in the Black Leather!!" The Captain scowled as Naga continued. "Captain Pathetic? Captain Confused?" "Repeat after me..." The Captain started, then Naga cut him off with the words, "Captain Cursed, Captain Horrible.." "CAPTAIN.." The Captain screamed. Then, Naga smiled. "Cappy?" The Captain groaned. "None of these are my name, thank you very much." Naga looked at him. "Well, who are you then, other than just 'Captain'?" "It be no matter to see who I am named," The Captain scowled at Naga. "What does matter is that I have ye right where I want ye!!" The Captain laughed as he called his two minions. "Lilen! Korvadous!" "Yes sir!!" The two spoke to their old and senile leader. "Keep that swordsman busy while I teach that foul skunk of a White Serpent a harsh lesson she won't forget!!" With that, Korvadous and Lilen surrounded Getehl. Getehl dashed for his sword which the innkeeper dropped, but he was cut off. Lilen had Getehl to her with her daggers while Korvadous has his crossbow ready, aimed at Getehl's head. "Surrender, White Serpent, or yer companion gets it!!" The Captain pointed at Getehl, all tied up. "It's me you want, Captain," Naga scowled. "Leave Getehl alone!!" "Shall I do it now, boss?" Korvadous spoke as he pointed his crossbow at Getehl. "Not yet boy," The Captain spoke while Naga picked up a knife from the stunned corpse of the Innkeeper. While the Captain turned around for a brief second, Naga tossed the knife quickly while she uttered the words. "SHADOW SNAP!!" She threw the knife at Korvadous's shadow, stopping him in his tracks. It startled him, and he shot the arrow upwards at the sky instead of the head of Getehl. The arrow then hit the ground. Thankfully, no one was hurt from the arrow. "What the?!" The Captain was stunned. Getehl was trying to get at Lilen while she tries to slash him with her daggers. Eventually, Getehl grabbed his sword. He continued fighting, and dodging Lilen's dagger attacks. Eventually, he sprung up, and fought Lilen, sword to daggers. Meanwhile, the Captain rushed over to Korvadous. "AAARRR!!!" The Captain snarled. "This is no time to be standing around!!" He pulled the knife from Korvadous's shadow. The Captain placed the knife in his pocket, and pointed at Getehl. "Get a clear shot at that man's head while I dispose of this serpentine nuisance." "Yes sir!!" Korvadous readied his crossbow for another shot at Getehl. "Well White Serpent," The Captain gloated, "Are you ready to give up?" Naga looked at the Captain. "To a crazy old man like you? OOOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO!! Keep dreaming!!" The Captain gloated even further. "Well, it seems as if your friend is going to be the receiving end of a well placed arrow, as well as you being the victim of my latest weapon!!" As Korvadous prepared his shot, Lilen and Getehl wrestled it out. "BEHOLD!!" The captain revealed Petey to Naga. Sadly for him, Petey is not the kind of albatross that would agree to introduce himself in a grand manner. "HA HARR!! Got ye right where I want ye!!" The Captain laughed. "It be bad luck to kill a man wearing an albatross, so if ya gets me, ya get bad luck!!" The Captain roared into laughter. Naga then looked at Petey. Then she bursted into her maniacal laughter once again. "What be so funny, White Serpent?" The Captain looked with a cold stare. "Is that the reason you are having bad luck already, is because you killed your pet in the first place? It be bad luck to kill an albatross anyway, let me tell you!!" Naga smiled. Lord knows where she got that reference, but she caught on the Captain's plan quite quickly. "Is that true?" The Captain snarled. "Well then, it be more bad luck to kill him futher, right, Petey?" The Captain shook Petey to get an agreement. Sadly, the bird is about as dead as a doornail. Just as Korvadous shot his arrow, it neither hit Getehl or Lilen. It struck the hair of Lilen, as her hair swayed in. The arrow was quite stuck there. Lilen was mad. She rushed at Korvadous with all her rage, and mostly Korvadous was the receiving end for Lilen's mad punches and kicks. Eventually, the little ball of destruction that was Korvadous and Lilen wrapped around the Captain, getting in the way of the fisted attacks of Lilen. "THAT'S ENOUGH!!!" The Captain screamed. The two goons stopped fighting. Naga smiled. "You never learn, do you, Captain Corny?" "ARRRRRRR, IT BE NOT.." But before the Captain could finish, Naga raised her hands in the air. Magic began to fill her hands. She shouted the words, "MEGA BRAND!!" as the spell blasted the Captain and his goons into the stratosphere. The entire town watched the whole fight. Then, everyone, including the bravest guard, prepared to fight for what Naga did to their Inn. "OOOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO!!" Naga laughed as she placed her hands on her hips. "Have a nice flight, see you next fall!! OOOHOHOHOHOHOHO" She spoke to the Captain while he was flying. Then, she pointed North, to where the Silent Bell awaits them. "Come Getehl, our friends await our arrival!!" As Getehl nodded his head, and the town heard Naga's laugh, they changed their minds about fighting Naga, and ran to their homes. Naga and Getehl continued North, as soon as Getehl got his stuff back from the robbers, to their next destination... The lost city of Levar, where the Silent Bell was last seen and waiting. ----- Meanwhile, the Captain and his goons landed in a waterwell, Where horses usually drink water from it after a long and tiring ride. Korvadous spoke as he looked at his surroundings. "It seems as if we are all washed up right now." "AAARRRRR!!" The Captain screamed. "We wouldn't be washed up if that blasted White Serpent didn't blast us here to begin with!!" "At least we got to cool off after that last battle." Lilen said as the three of them are completely soaked. "We needed a bath anyway." "AAARRRR!!" The Captain screamed as one of the horses came up to the Captain, and nuzzled him. "Next time we meet, White Serpent," The Captain groaned while he is trying to get the horse away from him. "It is YOU that will be washed into the Sea of Defeat!!" The Captain laughed as a ranch hand came with a pitchfork. The Ranch hand was described as a man of his 60s, a long, flowing brown mustache that hung over his mouth. He had blue eyes, wore suspenders, and has bent legs to keep him standing. He screamed, "You there, in the pirate costumes, GET OFF MY RANCH!!" With that, he proceeded to chase the Captain and his goons with his pitchfork. "Sir," Korvadous said to his boss as all three did as the ranch hand told them and ran away from the ranch hand's property. "There is no Sea of Defeat." "Yes," Lilen spoke. "If there was a Sea of Defeat, we were soaking in it a few minutes ago." "AAAAAARRRRRRRRRR!!!!" The Captain screamed as the other two covered their ears. And of course, Petey is far too dead to even hear the Captain's scream as they continued to run away from the Ranch, and off into the mountains, where hopefully, they'll find refuge. ------ END (Of chapter 35.) ------ Author's notes: Yes, it was a major struggle trying to figure out what was going on, and major hard work on writing the part itself. I know I made the extension too soon, and hopefully, for the next part that I MIGHT be doing, I hope that I won't fall into the same disorder I am in right now. Yes, the chapter is short, and there are suggestions by Ravi to fill in a few gaps. I thank Ravi and Todd for trying to help make this chapter a bit worthwhile. And I also would like to thank inverse.org for all the spells. Those spells helped Naga destroy the Inn and protect herself from the debris of wood, and the Captain's latest attack. I originally had a dream sequence at the beginning, but since it didn't fit, I redid the whole thing. And the joke about the Captain's real name, since the Captain didn't have a real name, I might as well make a joke to see what it is. (I'm leaving the TRUE real name to the Captain's creator, if the Captain even has one.) I would've done a plot chapter, but it seems as if I'll leave that to future readers. I'm pretty much neutral about this chapter right now, but at least I made the story move along hopefully as nice as the fans and other writers want it to. Lord Ryunson, lordryansen@yahoo.com
